Sal and I have had this trip planned for some time now. Our really great friends Tracey and Caleb planned to get married in Mexico and they wanted us to come and they wanted sally to be the one to marry them. So we went to Mexico for a week. We had a great time relaxing. I pretty much ran every morning, laid around at the beach all day and we kayaked, snorkeled, played paddle ball and football. I got to meditate and be close to the beauty of mother earth. The weather was fabulous and it was great to be around friends. Tracey and Calebs wedding was absolutely gorgeous and Sally did an incredible job. I'm so lucky to be alive and to be surrounded by loving people.

Three events that really stand out in this week were my appointment with Micheal Broffman, our potluck dinner, and my appointment with Dr. Smith.
Micheal Broffman was referred to me by Dr. Brian Bouch, a m.d. who survived cancer and decided he wanted to become an acupuncturist. I was told that Micheal Broffman specializes in cancer and it was a must to go and see him. The visit was incredible. We had a two hour consultation and I received a ton of information from him. He gave us info on on and off label pharmacuticals(all compatible with temodar and thalidamide), treatments in other parts of the country (some examples being gene therapy and vaccine therapy that have already past trial stages and are available in Germany, Buenos Aires, and China), and how melanoma differs from any other cancer in that it is immunogenic. He helped to stream line my supplements and gave me alternatives so that I can change up the monotonous routine. He said that if I take the same supplements over and over the body get use to it, so it good to get supplements that are similar to one another and integrate them in and out. He sent me 13 articles/studies specifically on whats fighting melanoma. He also made suggestions to my acupuncturist to work on points that help with cancer. He knows both Dr. Smith and Dr. Kashani in person and he told me that I can get a free membership at the Bay Club in San Francisco since I'm Dr. Smiths patient. There was more but I don't feel like writing a novel. But as you can see this guy really knows his s**t.

OK so with all of this information I had some questions to ask Dr. Smith. Chrissy and I went to see him on Friday afternoon. As always when he walks in the room he glows and his smile is infectious. We started asking him questions and almost half way through he asked if we had seen Micheal Broffman. We said yes. Dr. Smith agrees with all of Broffmans suggestions and has a few of them up his sleeve if things take a bad turn. It just really felt great to have a lot more options. Options that aren't chemotherapy but that are proven effective. Before our appointment was over he wanted to feel the lump in my breast which is now completely gone. He feels that the ct of the lungs were to spread apart and he thinks we don't have an accurate time line of whats actually taken place. We asked him about the Bay club member ship and he said absolutely. I now have a free membership there with two personal training sessions a week. Not bad.

The potluck dinner was great. Kristine Hicks, James Occonell, Sue Ray, Eric Ruben, Chirssy, Sally and I all had an amazing time. We ate great food and had great conversation. I love being surrounded by wonderful people. I'm very lucky.

This week was interesting. What I learned is not to be so attached to an outcome. To trust and believe in my healing process. I need to love, accept and honor my feeling. I found out on Monday that the tumors in my lungs have increased in size by a cm or two. The are unsure if the increase is collapsed lung around the tumors or if the tumors got bigger and then got smaller. I had the initial ct in the beginning of may. It had been several months before I started chemo and all of my alternative therapies. We have no idea if the tumors increased in size and then decreased. So I am happy that I feel good and I have learned a lot about responding to and dealing with outcomes.

Other things that stand out for this week are Sally gave an incredible seminar on Wednesday....and 30 people showed up. I helped her out and had a great time listening to her speak. Its her first seminar and I know it won't be the last.

I went to a reiki circle on Thursday night. I had 10 people doing reiki on me all at one time. The session lasted an hour and a half. The most profound thing is that I saw something. It was a blue light and it was a male energy. He said there is no beginning and no end. He said you may now release all of the pain and suffering from past lives to present. I looked around in my minds eye and knew it was day time but when I looked up the sky was dark and it had stars in it. The male energy told me to look forward and there was a golden pyramid with an infinity sign in it. And that was it. Crazy I know.

Sal and I ran in the park and cleaned up the house on Saturday. Sunday sal went surfing with Dr. James and I took terra to the beach with them. Our friends had a going away organic brunch at their house...it was delicious. Afterward we all went to the castro street fair. We had a blast.

Because I haven't journaled in a while I will make what I have missed short and sweet. I went down to la for four days to see my family. The real reason for my trip was to see my best friend leta, her baby tokyo and her sister darbi. I spent most of my time with sean and my mom. On Thursday I spent the entire day with leta and her family. I miss her so much. She was my first true best friend, roommate and to some extent big sister/mom. It was great to see her. I love you leta.
I drove up to meet sally on Friday in SLO. We spent time with her family and we all participated in the Heritage Oaks run. The entire family wore Morin and Associates Real Estate T-shirts and we all ran the 5k. Terra and I ran it in 28 minutes. It was a relaxing fun week.

I woke up and walked Terra and meditated before going to get my scan. Chrissy and I went to the new China Basin Campus which was to my surprise really nice. I went in to get my scan and like clock work was expecting to drink the contrast. To my surprise they no longer have you drink the contrast anymore. What a relief. I got my IV put in so they can feed the contrast in my veins and hopped up on the ct table. To my surprise they had to feed contrast up my colon, like a colonic, and I had to hold it throughout the entire scan. Hummm....drink the contrast or have an enema....I think I'll take the enema. I had positive thoughts throughout the entire scan.
Afterward Chrissy and I went to eat at Cafe Gratitude. We had amazing food and just so happened to run into friends from school.
I finished off my day by going to Dr. Smiths office to get a pregnancy test to qualify for the Thalidamide drug and to drop of copies of the ct scan.
My dad was kind enough to talk to the owner of Butterfly, a friend of his, to get us reservations at the restaurant and requested that he pay for the bill. It was incredible. The food, atmosphere, music and company. Thanks dad.

I started my day of by meditating and chanting for an hour. I walked Terra and got to play with her at the beach. I met up with Chrissy and we went to a 12pm spin class. It kicked my butt. After spin I had an appointment with Andreas for an acupuncture session. It was great as always. After Andeas I drove home and got ready for Wayne Ing to come over. He gave me a fabulous massage that help put me in the right frame of mind for my scan tomorrow.

Sally and I woke up and went to the front runners run group. My foot was bothering me so I walked for two miles with Terra...who was also recovering from her surgery.
After the run/walk we went to see James O'connell for an adjustment. He rocked my occiput and atlas and aligned my entire body. Thanks James.
We went up to the Russian river for women's weekend to meet up with our friends Tina, Stephanie and Marlece We hung out for the day and enjoyed the sun and company.
We headed back home and thought we had enough energy in us to go to our friends business opening. Jill Mcall, a very close friend of ours, opened a beautiful psychotherapy office down on 24th and Noe. It was fun to see her and her space. It was a fun filled day.

Today I got to get massaged by Wayne Ing. It was a wonderful massage. I spent most of the day meditating, walking Terra and relaxing. I miss Marie already. What will I do for two weeks?

Today was extremely mellow day. Terra is in recovery and I just lounged around the house. I got some paper work and phone calls out of the way and then decided I needed to see James for an adjustment. The bodywork and adjustment felt great...my spine and skull were in desperate need of James.

Chrissy and her mom were at the house when I got home. We had a chance to sit and talk for a while and then had some lunch. After lunch Crissy went back to work and I dropped Carol off at her hotel on my way to go shopping at Rainbow grocery. I picked up a few items and then came back home. I was excited for Sally to come and to get ready for our potluck dinner.

We made organic chili and cornbread from scratch and invited a few people over to join us. Tina Collins came and brought a beautiful Greek salad. It was so great to see her...it probably has been l5-6 months since I last saw her. Unfortunately her partner Soups was unable to make it because he is a frequent traveler for his business. Hopefully I'll get to see him soon. Sepi and Bentrish brought Bulgar as their dish. Its was awesome. It is a mix between quinwa and rice. Sepi and I had the opportunity to talk and I was touched by what she had to say. She is full of wisdom and strength and I am extremely luck to have her and Bentrish in my life. Elanor and her girlfriend Jessie came and brought an amazing salad that had figs, walnuts and feta cheese. I was finally able to finish adjusting Elanor....something I have been tring to do since Dina Shore weekend in Palm Springs. It was great to be surrounded by people who love and support my healing process. Thank you everyone. You have no idea how much it means to me. I am truly a blessed human being.
